TOM WEBSTER HONORED WITH LIFETIME PSADA MEMBERSHIP AWARD

Tom has served Pennsylvania school districts for 35 years. He began his career as a distributor for Universal Gym Equipment in 1984. He then worked as a regional manager for five years before opening Webster’s Fitness Products, Inc. in 1998.

Tom has thoroughly enjoyed working and consulting with school districts in Pennsylvania on how to properly design, equip, and utilize a school district’s fitness center. What he enjoys the most is teaching students and student athletes the joy of physical fitness and how to properly weight train. He credits Webster’s Fitness Products’ success with the collaboration with PSADA over the last 25 years. With that partnership, Webster’s has equipped over 300 school districts in Pennsylvania with quality fitness equipment. He also credits the success of Webster’s as a group effort of its sales and service employees.

Tom’s right-hand man is Vince Papurello, who has been with Webster’s since the beginning. As Webster’s sales manager, he is critical to the sales success of the company. Their entire team of people are just great, solid individuals.

Besides schools, Tom works with colleges, universities, professional sports teams, hospitals, rehab clinics, commercial gyms, apartments, and hotels. Working with schools is his favorite.

Tom practices what he preaches--he still works out three days a week and has done so for the past 45 years. A former power-lifter, he is still a competitive bodybuilder. He credits weight training with giving him the daily discipline to build the body, mind, and spirit.

Tom has been married to his beautiful wife Lisa, for 28 years, and they have two sons, Tom Jr., who is a sales associate with Webster’s and Bob, who is a junior at California University of Pennsylvania.

Fitness has been a family affair and “I have been blessed to have been able to make my hobby my career. I have been fortunate to meet so many wonderful people over the years through our PSADA partnership. PSADA has been like family to us. I truly thank PSADA for the business support, but, most of all, the valued friendship throughout the years."
